Henry Weston, third generation cider maker from Herefordshire can't get enough of his Orbea Gain E-Bike.
Being a keen cyclist, Henry wanted to extend his range by riding further for longer helping him keep fit and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
When he visited Zerobikes in Much Marcle, Herefordshire (his very local bike shop) he was able to choose from the range of bikes they had on offer and the Orbea Gain e bike was exactly what he wanted. A smart, practical bike with a battery concealed in the down tube of the frame and a Ebikemotion X35 25kmh rear hub motor to drive you smoothly on your way.
Henry was keen to take advantage of the ability to add an extra battery to allow him to go even further, the "range extender" is an extra battery the size of a standard drinks bottle that you can carry on your bike in a normal bottle cage and plugs into the main battery, providing nearly 2 hours of additional boost at maximum power assist — something unheard of in the industry.
When attached to Gain, the external device charges the bike's main internal battery, which has a current capacity of 248W / h, and adds an additional 208W / h to the Ebikemotion X35 systems. This brings the total battery capacity to 450W / h, giving a 70% boost to the internal battery's charge.
